While Yuki is waiting for their drinks, Corbin tries to save them a table to avoid the frustration of a third wheel.  Unfortunately this guy does not seem to understand what ‘these seats are taken’ means.  He plops himself right down with his fancy drink, and starts chatting up Yuki.

Offended (and threatened) by this smug mass of muscle in a mesh Tshirt, Corbin paints himself into a corner trying to impress them both as Marcus takes control of the conversation.

Corbin: “… Well I’m a Lion-Tamer!”

Marcus: “Sure you are, Tinkerbell.  And I’m King Henry.”

Luckily, Casanova Corbin got his date with Yuki, and that weekend they met at a pretty cafe with a great view.  ‘Cause he’s totally checking out the waterfront.  Can’t take his eyes off of it.

Yuki: “It’s getting cold, let’s go inside and grab a hot drink.”

Corbin: “ ❤ ″

So here’s my boy Corbin (Danae’s older brother), a lonely Loner trying to make some friends; so what does he do?  Join a nice, safe, book club.

-_-

However, there’s a really cute blue-haired chick in this club who likes some of his favorite bands, and they hit it off right away. But as he attempts to flirt, badly, with his fellow Loner, my husband hops in for a bite and sits down at her table before Casanova over there can even get up.  <headdesk>

Ah married life.  To be honest, it’s not much different from single life; mostly the pressures have just shifted towards new priorities.

Kam at breakfast: “So, are you and Atticus going to try for a kid soon, or are you going to wait a bit?”

Danae midbite: “!?”

[Later]

Danae: “So your dad brought up a funny thought…”
