1) So that looks like TS3 political stuff; I wonder if we’ll get an active Politics career in EP3?

2) The tagging looks neat, I wonder if it will only be allowed for a few key surfaces or if you can tag anything with a certain amount of space on it?

3) That looks like a garage door, I know the leak said no transportation (and I’m inclined to believe that) but some people are going to get their hopes up over this example choice.  =/

Otherwise, I am interested in this expansion.  I don’t think I want to waste any more money on Stuff Packs, but I’ve been happy with the Game and Expansion Packs so far, so I’ll give this one a shot too.

I do think it’s funny that a lot of people are saying “I hope it has TS2-style [insert aspect here]!” for several things.

pxelbean said: “I checked and my graphics card os not recognized in ts3 either. I haven’t seen any major glitches but I have serious lag issues. Whould getting my graphics card recognized help?”

– From what I understand* you can have a top of the line card, but if your game tells you ‘hey I don’t recognize this’ it will assume that the card is on the low end and flag its defaults to the low-card settings.  So while you can turn things up and you’re card can handle it, the game doesn’t think so and you get discrepancies in your game play.

The edits I made to my files were a little confusing but now that it’s done I’m not getting any more warnings on load up, and my game is actually rendering the way I expect it to with all bars set to the top.

If you can follow along with this [ http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Getting_new_graphics_cards_recognized_by_the_game ] give it a try and see if it helps.

Also keep in mind lag can be from bloaty saves etc.  You may want to ask @ashuriphoenix because I’m still learning this stuff myself, and she’s a ts3 wizard =P

(*Please for gods sake someone who knows what they’re talking about jump in here, I don’t want to mislead with half-assed information!)

ashuriphoenix said: “DON’T forget to save her to bin before you exit!  …  (And you may end up in the habit, if you edit for long periods, to periodically save to bin and delete the doppelgangers from SavedSims folder later.)”

– Okay, I’ll try to remember that.  You mentioned cleaning saves after CAS bloat, would that be via NRaas Cleaner?

ashuriphoenix said: “And the peasants rejoice!  😀  I’m glad you were able to at least see the damn sims in the game.”

– I can!  And I gave her a snazzy new haircut to celebrate.  How do you go back and edit a finished sim in CAS?  I think I need to edit her jaw, or widen her head or something…

Alright!  I followed the GameHelp thing, and in everything I tracked down my files already had the correct info (I’m going to double check after I log out) so I said screw it and deleted the config file, my cache files, and my options ini and tried the game one more time.

While it still says it doesn’t recognize my card on load up, there are no more size errors and everything is running on High at the moment with no other errors.  I think we’re good?  I need to ask my husband about one line later, but that should do it if my play through now doesn’t try to defenestrate itself.

ashuriphoenix said: “You may have to get TS3 to recognize the card.  Mine wasn’t recognized for the longest time and OOOOHHHHH the crashes.  Just look up how to do it.  It’s a tiny bit daunting but it’s fairly straightforward.”

– Yeah that’s my plan.  I tried opening it again, and it did the same weird placement thing, then I fixed my screen res in Options and it looked better but still not right; I can’t move the window to fit my screen, and it won’t let me do a few other things.  So before I really tried playing I made sure things looked okay in the settings and closed up.

*EDIT:  So I’m on the right track, I just have to follow this advice…

http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Getting_new_graphics_cards_recognized_by_the_game

Sorry I’ve been away; I’ve been busy, a little lazy, and recently got a new video card for my birthday.  It’s great, but some of my games are throwing errors at me for it right now, so I’ve been sorting them out one at a time.

Minecraft and WoW gave me no issues, they started up and let me update settings without hassle.  BTW, Minecraft with shaders is super pretty!  ♥‿♥

But both TS3 and TS4 told me that they don’t recognize my card and I’d better turn down my settings or else, and TS2 wouldn’t even turn on!  (ಥ﹏ಥ)

After deleting a config file, I got TS2 to “see” my card and turn on, that one’s running happily now.  Weird as ever, but happy.  Psst…that’s not how you fly

TS4 seems fine? -at least I don’t notice any problems after a test-save play through…

But TS3 is a scary beast in comparison, and it popped a bunch of exception files when I first loaded that make me unsure if I should try my luck with that one or wait for the drivers to catch up.  ಠ~ಠ  HMM.

So please bear with me while I finish catching things up. =D

Finally found one of the Wild Horses again, and managed to cheat make friends with him.  I think she should take a few horseback lessons before trying to ride him again.

After Nervous Ned ate one of her harder to find mushrooms, I dropped a fence around the garden.  Almost immediately he tried to get in, realized it was locked, and proceeded to pee in front of the gate in protest.
