So my husband was having a chat with his mom and sister earlier in-game (you can tell he’s uncomfortable with the subject matter), and near the end of the day, his mother calls inviting him out.  Normally, I would say ‘aw she wants to spend time with him’, but she’s inviting him to a bar

However…

She is also inviting him to Aliens Night, which cracks me up and I immediately correct the thought to ‘aw, she knows him so well…’!

One last hurrah with the summer simselves before we switch into autumn!  Which doesn’t mean much in California mostly it means fire season.  =/

I know you don’t see these guys often, but I check on them once in a while, edit in new haircuts, update them for the RL seasons, et cetera.

My goofball firstborn of course tries the trick shot right away.

My husband jumps into it head first as well.

My easily frustrated clone child flops.

Surprisingly, she shakes it off and keeps going, even with a submerged angry moodlet floating around.

The next morning, Corbin woke up… happy

For the first time in a year, there was no knot in his stomach because Yuki was going to wake up soon, and either start a fight or sneak onto the computer and use it to ignore him all day.

He didn’t have to deal with loud music until the early morning.

He didn’t have to feel like his horrible little cubicle at work was a sanctuary.

He didn’t have to worry that his homesickness might offend someone.

And he didn’t have to be alone to feel happy.

Corbin: …I feel pretty, oh so pretty…

Violet insisted that she was nowhere near tired, and that they should stay a little while longer.  With heavy doubts about her daughter’s remaining energy, Alice agreed to stay and watch a short movie.  Corbin made some popcorn for dessert, and they put on the latest spy movie.

But after half an hour Violet, finally tired and bored of all the scripted intrigue, wandered upstairs to check out the view in a back room and found the air mattress that Corbin had first used.  She got herself comfortable with a view of the yard, and was asleep in under a minute.

Back downstairs, it looks like Corbin and Alice ended up a little bored with the movie too…

Corbin pulled out some tilapia that Alice offered to season while he prepped the salad, and then she just went ahead and started frying it.

Corbin: “You didn’t have to do that, I was almost done.”

Alice waved a hand.  “I don’t mind cooking, it’s the dishes afterwards I hate.”  She chuckled.

image

No really, she’s so glad she won’t have to do the dishes tonight…

Alice relaxed on the couch while Corbin cleaned up.

When everything was done, he turned to them.  “Are you guys going to be leaving soon then?”

Alice put a hand to her chest and laughed.  “Are you kicking us out?”

He grinned.  “No no!  I actually like the company, I’ve been holed up in here by myself for too long, and I’d really like it if we can do this again sometime.  It’s just getting dark out now, and I’m not sure how long it will take you to get home.”

1) So that looks like TS3 political stuff; I wonder if we’ll get an active Politics career in EP3?

2) The tagging looks neat, I wonder if it will only be allowed for a few key surfaces or if you can tag anything with a certain amount of space on it?

3) That looks like a garage door, I know the leak said no transportation (and I’m inclined to believe that) but some people are going to get their hopes up over this example choice.  =/

Otherwise, I am interested in this expansion.  I don’t think I want to waste any more money on Stuff Packs, but I’ve been happy with the Game and Expansion Packs so far, so I’ll give this one a shot too.

I do think it’s funny that a lot of people are saying “I hope it has TS2-style [insert aspect here]!” for several things.

Alice: “Thank you again for watching her, I really appreciate it.  Did she give you any trouble?”

Corbin: “Oh no, she was great!”

Alice: “We’re both talking about my daughter, Violet, right?”

Corbin laughed.  “We started off a little rocky, but we had fun today, don’t worry.  She’s a good kid.”

image

Alice: “Okay.  Well we’d better get home, I need to make dinner and it will be dark soon.”

Corbin: “You could eat dinner here if you want.  I could whip up something while you take a breather, and Violet seems pretty content to give my computer viruses for now, so…?”

Alice: “UGH.  To be honest you shouldn’t let her anywhere near your computer.  She… has an affinity for them.  But someone else making dinner does sound nice!  Let me ask Violet.”

image

Violet: “Heck yeah I want to stay for dinner!”

Alice: Whoa!  Okay then.

Violet: “He said he was gonna show me how to make cookies!”

Corbin shouted from the fridge, “Not tonight!  I said next time i’ll show you!”

Alice: “Next time, huh?”

Alice got out of work tired and frustrated; today was not one of her better days.  She just wanted to pick up Violet, go home, and take a nice hot, rosewater bath.

As she reached the house, she paused to think, “Did I turn that Bunsen burner off?  I did, right?”

Violet was so absorbed in his description of the baking process that she didn’t notice the pool until they sat down.  Upon sighting it she jumped up and squealed, “Oh you have a pool!  Can I go swimming?!”

Corbin shook his head again.  “Sorry kiddo, I don’t have anything appropriate for a little girl to wear in the pool.  But if you bring a bathing suit and a big t-shirt next time, yes you can go swimming.”

image

Violet: “But I could just swim in my clothes!”

Corbin laughed.  “Uh, maybe when your mom gets back, you can ask her, but for now, no.”

image

Violet: “You can’t swim, can you?”

Corbin: “Hey!  I’ll have you know I am a champion swimmer!  I have won no less than twenty-three imaginary medals from racing my sister!”  The fact that she has closer to thirty is not worth mentioning
