Alright!  I followed the GameHelp thing, and in everything I tracked down my files already had the correct info (I’m going to double check after I log out) so I said screw it and deleted the config file, my cache files, and my options ini and tried the game one more time.

While it still says it doesn’t recognize my card on load up, there are no more size errors and everything is running on High at the moment with no other errors.  I think we’re good?  I need to ask my husband about one line later, but that should do it if my play through now doesn’t try to defenestrate itself.

– Yeah that’s my plan.  I tried opening it again, and it did the same weird placement thing, then I fixed my screen res in Options and it looked better but still not right; I can’t move the window to fit my screen, and it won’t let me do a few other things.  So before I really tried playing I made sure things looked okay in the settings and closed up.

*EDIT:  So I’m on the right track, I just have to follow this advice…

http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Getting_new_graphics_cards_recognized_by_the_game

Sorry I’ve been away; I’ve been busy, a little lazy, and recently got a new video card for my birthday.  It’s great, but some of my games are throwing errors at me for it right now, so I’ve been sorting them out one at a time.

Minecraft and WoW gave me no issues, they started up and let me update settings without hassle.  BTW, Minecraft with shaders is super pretty!  ♥‿♥

But both TS3 and TS4 told me that they don’t recognize my card and I’d better turn down my settings or else, and TS2 wouldn’t even turn on!  (ಥ﹏ಥ)

After deleting a config file, I got TS2 to “see” my card and turn on, that one’s running happily now.  Weird as ever, but happy.  Psst…that’s not how you fly

TS4 seems fine? -at least I don’t notice any problems after a test-save play through…

But TS3 is a scary beast in comparison, and it popped a bunch of exception files when I first loaded that make me unsure if I should try my luck with that one or wait for the drivers to catch up.  ಠ~ಠ  HMM.

So please bear with me while I finish catching things up. =D

HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS I THINK I FIXED MY HOSPITAL GLITCH !!

I’ve been getting that ‘Doctor stands in front of the hospital’ and ‘Mother stuck at the front desk’ thing for my last few in-labor sims, and I would eventually give up and have the baby at home.  But after screwing with a few things IT WORKS AGAIN.

Dine Out gave me the idea to check a few things in my hospital edit, namely from the ‘vent fan above the new stove causes the stove to be unusable’ glitch, in the Hogan’s Diner lot.  Once you remove the vent fan the cook stops just standing there stirring endlessly and starts actually making orders.

So I thought maybe the lights I chose are blocking the baby machines, they were the only things close enough to interfere with/overlap the machine’s grids. So I move the lights outside of one machine’s footprint and even though that should have done nothing, my sim immediately went to that back room (the smaller one) and my doctor manned the controls!

Yay!  Now we can have All The Babies!?
